Killing mobs during the Storm's Fury event has a chance to drop Coalesced Storm Remnants, a quest that grants 10 Essence of the Storm. The Storm's Fury event uses 2 currencies for their rewards: Elemental Overflow, a currency farmed from both Primal Storms and the Storm's Fury event, and Essence of the Storm, a new currency added for Patch 10.0.5.Įssence of the Storm is a new currenc added in Patch 10.0.5, obtained through the Storm's Fury event, and used to purchase rewards within the event. Disabling an elemental portal for the first time will also spawn a Warmth field near it, to make defending portals easier. You're able to stack Warmth in the protected area of the Temporal Conflux, or by using Field Deployable Heat Source, an item that can be purchased from Tarnormu with gold in the Temporal Conflux. Standing in any heat source, be it in the Temporal Conflux or generated by the item, will immediately remove all stacks of Freezing and start accumulating stacks of Warmth every 2 seconds. You can stack up to 25 stacks of Warmth, stacking one every 2 seconds - If you have stacks of Warmth, one application of the aforementioned Freezing debuff will instead remove one stack of Warmth. You are able to counter the Freezing debuff by seeking Warmth. You gain a new stack of Freezing every 5 seconds, if unattended. The temperatures in the Primalist Future will be extremely cold during the event, affecting unprepared players with Freezing, a stacking damage debuff. The Primalists are not the only danger during the Storm's Fury event. The Earth boss we defeated during testing for this post had two abilities - Movable spikes that stunned players on contact, and summoning earth adds that pursuit random players. The boss has 33m hp before health scaling and provides a decent challenge to players. Once all four Primalist portals are deactivated at the same time, the barrier surrounding the boss of the event will dissipate, and players are able to engage it. If a portal is reactivated, players will need to progress through the entire claiming bar again. However, disabled portals will continue to be attacked by Primalists and CAN be reactivated, so the deactivated portals cannot be left unattended. Once a portal is fully controlled by the defending forces, it will be disabled. The portals work similarly to taking control of areas in Battlegrounds like Wintergrasp - Players must remain near the portal and no Primalist mobs must be nearby for the defending forces to take control of it. Players must approach the area and defend it against Primalist mobs, which will spawn in waves every 30 seconds to 1 minute. At each location marked on the minimap, there will be a Primalist portal. When the Storm's Fury is active, there will be four portals and one giant Elemental boss in the middle of the Primalist Future. The event has no cooldown, staying up for 5 hours for completion at a time. Unlocking this event at least once will unlock it for your entire account. The event shows up on the Dragon Isles map as a World Quest when active. Completing this quest enables the Storm's Fury event. In there, you meet with Soridormi, Nozdormu's mate, who requests help with that timeline, as the Primalists have grown in strength there. Zawarudu sends you to the Primalist Future in the quest Storm Warning. You unlock the Storm's Fury event in Patch 10.0.5 by talking to Zawarudu located atop the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken.
